      If you're having difficulty opening the lid of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker: * The contents may be under pressure. Release pressure according to the recipe. Only open the lid after the float valve has dropped down. * There might be pressure inside the multicooker. Release pressure according to the recipe. Only open the lid after the float valve has dropped down. * The float valve could be stuck due to food debris or residue. Release pressure completely, then gently tap the float valve with a long utensil. * Open the lid cautiously, then thoroughly clean the float valve, surrounding area, and lid before next use.

      If steam gushes from the steam release valve of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker when the quick release switch is in the Seal position: * There might not be enough liquid in the inner pot. Add thin, water-based liquid according to the pot size (5.7 L: 375 ml, 8 L: 500 ml). * There could be a pressure sensor control failure. Contact Customer Care. * The steam release valve might not be seated properly. Move the steam release switch to Vent and then back to the Seal position.

      If you're having difficulty closing the lid of your Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker: * The sealing ring may not be properly installed. Reposition the sealing ring, ensuring it is snug behind the sealing ring rack. * The float valve might be in the popped-up position. Gently press the float valve downward with a long utensil. * The contents in the multicooker could still be hot. Hold the quick release switch in the Vent position as you slowly lower the lid, allowing heat to dissipate.
