Air Filter Assembly (Diesel Models)
Removal and Installation
See Figures 3-13 and 3-14.
• The air filter on this engine is a dry type; never apply
oil to it.
• It is recommended to remove and clean the dust cap
daily (in dusty conditions).
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Raise the hood.

For installation purposes, note orientation of air inlet (3)
before removing the air filter dust cap (1).
3. Release retaining clips (2) and remove the air filter
dust cap.
4. Using damp, lint-free cloths, thoroughly clean the
inside of the dust cap.

5. Slide air filter (4) out of the assembly.
Installation Note
Install air filter assembly in the reverse order of removal.
• Do not open the air filter assembly for
inspection or cleaning. Unnecessary removal
of the air filter increases the risk of injecting
dust and other impurities into the engine.
• Do not remove air filter with engine running.
