5. Slide the free arm cover in the direction of arrow so there
should be no gap between the needle plate base plate and
free arm cover.
Remove the free arm cover.
* There are 3 hooks (C, D and E) holding the free arm
cover as indicated. Unlatch the hooks before removing
the free arm cover.

Free arm cover
To remove:
1. Remove the needle and presser foot holder.
2. Push down the needle plate release lever.
Remove the needle plate.
3. Remove the bed cover (see page 3).
4. Remove the setscrew A and pin B.

To attach:
1. Latch the hooks through the holes. Press down the Free
arm cover to the free arm. Slide the free arm cover to the
right until it clicks and stops. Be sure that the hook C is
latched to the thread cutter plate as shown.
2. Attach the setscrew and pin to fix the free arm cover.
3. Attach the needle plate. Press down the

needle plate until it clicks.
