9 Support the flange part of gear case 58 on 300 mm
(11.8 in) blocks and press shaft end with a hydraulic
press to push out shaft 53, collar 54, plate 56, self-
aligning roller bearing 57, snap ring 60 and collar 59
from the assembly.
10 Remove the roller bearing 62 from gear case 58.

11 Remove and discard oil seal 61 from gear case 58 by
tapping.
12 Remove snap ring 60 from pinion shaft 53 and remove
collar 59.
Note: Before removing collar 59, make a note of which way
round it is, to ensure correct reassembly.
