Adjustment of the drive shaft length
a) Uncouple the cardan (1);
b) Remove the cardan cowling according the
instructions in the previous page.
c) Couple the machine to the tractor.
Note:
For doing the following procedures, the tractor
must be turned off and with the key out of
ignition.
d) Dismount the cardan, couple the tube (2) to the PTO
and the rod (3) in the machine.
e) Join the cardan parts side by side (as figure aside)
and check if there is a minimum gap of 3 cm at each
extremity.
If the spacing is smaller than the one mentioned above
or does not exist, mark and cut the tube (2) and the rod
(3), of the cardan as well as the protective tube (4), all of
them must have the same measurement.
f) Use a file to remove the resulting barb of the cuts. Use
gloves and goggles to protect hands and eyes.
g) Put some grease on the inner end of the tube and on
the cardan rod.
h) Mount all components of the cardan according to the
instructions in the previous page and couple it again.
