What to do if my JLG LiftPod FS80 platform doesn't lift up from the bottom, but the motor starts?
    • S
      Sherry BallardSep 10, 2025
If the JLG Lifting Systems platform motor starts but doesn't lift from the bottom, the driveshaft interlock may be engaged. Push the cordless drill on the driveshaft down firmly to disengage it. If using a powerpack, check it's correctly fitted to the platform, the latch is down, and the drive shaft is connected to the carriage drive shaft. Also, ensure a load greater than 50kg is in the platform and the lifting ropes are tight. If the latch hasn't released, lower the loaded platform slightly and try lifting again.

What to do if the JLG LiftPod FS80 powerpack motor does not start?
    • D
      Dr. Rhonda CollinsAug 23, 2025
If the powerpack motor doesn't start, first check if the emergency stop button is engaged (pushed in). If it is, disengage it by turning it clockwise until it pops up. Ensure that the direction selector is set to 'UP' and that both the enable trigger and speed control are continuously activated. Also, verify that a charged battery is properly installed in the powerpack. If the motor has overheated, wait for it to cool down; the temperature cutout resets automatically. Alternatively, use the manual descent procedure to lower the platform.

If the platform doesn't lift from the bottom, but the motor starts, check if the driveshaft interlock is engaged. If so, push the cordless drill on the driveshaft down firmly to disengage it. If using a powerpack, ensure it is correctly fitted to the platform, the latch is down, and the drive shaft is connected to the carriage drive shaft. Also, make sure a load greater than 50kg (110 lbs.) is in the platform and the lifting ropes are tight. If the latch hasn't released, try lowering the loaded platform slightly and then try lifting again.

Why the base of JLG LiftPod FS80 Lifting Systems will not level?
    • A
      aaronfloresAug 26, 2025
If the base will not level, it may be because the castor is deployed. With no load in the platform and people clear of adjustable feet, exert approximately 25kg pressure onto the front of the base to retract the castor. The adjustable feet should then be able to be used to level the machine on slopes less than 2 degrees front to back. Do not use the machine on any side slope.

Why won't the powerpack motor start on my JLG LiftPod FS80?
    • M
      Michelle Petersen DVMAug 28, 2025
If the JLG Lifting Systems powerpack motor doesn't start, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the emergency stop button is engaged; if so, disengage it by turning it clockwise until it pops up. Ensure that you select 'UP' on the direction selector and then continuously activate both the enable trigger and speed control. Verify the battery is properly installed and charged. Lastly, the motor may have overheated, in which case you should wait for it to cool down, as the temperature cutout resets automatically.

      taylormatthewAug 29, 2025
If your JLG Lifting Systems platform isn't lifting the full rated load, it could be due to a battery issue. Try charging or replacing the battery. Alternatively, the overload clutch might be slipping, in which case you should contact an Authorized JLG Service Center.

      Beth MillerSep 12, 2025
If the JLG Lifting Systems platform doesn't move when elevated but the motor starts, the driveshaft interlock might be engaged. Push the cordless drill on the driveshaft down firmly to disengage it. If using a powerpack, ensure it's charged, correctly fitted, fully down, and latched. If the drive shaft malfunctions, lower the platform using the manual descent procedure and refer to an Authorized JLG Service Center.

How to fix a JLG Lifting Systems machine that does not wheel properly?
    • M
      Matthew MooreSep 8, 2025
If your JLG Lifting Systems machine isn't wheeling properly, it might be because the retractable swivel castor isn't properly deployed. Ensure there's no load on the platform or base, then lift the castor deploy handle on the front of the base. The castor should deploy, lifting the front of the machine. If the castor is damaged, replace it.

Why the JLG LiftPod FS80 Lifting Systems machine rocks slightly side to side?
    • D
      Deanna LutzSep 5, 2025
If the machine rocks slightly side to side, it could be because the support surface isn't level. Ensure you only use the machine on firm and level surfaces. Another reason might be that the adjustable feet aren't both in contact with the supporting surface. Adjust the feet so that both are in firm contact and the machine is level.
