8. Electrical Wiring
8.1 General Check
(1) Make sure that the eld-selected electrical components: (main power switches, circuit breakers, wires,
conduit connectors, and wire terminals) have been properly labeled in accordance with electrical data
as specied in the Engineering Manual. Make sure that the components comply with the National
Electrical Code (NEC).
(2) Check to ensure that the power supply voltage is within ±10% of the rated voltage.
(3) Check the capacity of the electrical wires.
If the power supply capacity is too low, the system cannot be started due to a voltage drop.
(4) Verify that the ground wiring is securely connected.

Substandardworkcanresultinreanddamagetotheunit.
● Usespeciedcablesbetweenunitsandchoosethecablescorrectly.Ifnot,anelectricalshockor
remayoccur.
● DonotopentheservicecoveroraccesspanelfortheindoororoutdoorunitswithoutturningOFF
themainpowersupply.Itcanresultinanelectricalshock.
● TurnOFFthemainpowerswitchoftheindoorunitandtheoutdoorunitbeforeattemptinganyelectrical
wiringworkoraperiodicalcheckisperformed.Ifnot,itwillresultinanelectricshockorare.
● Checktoensurethattheindoorfanandtheoutdoorfanhavestoppedbeforeattemptingany
electricalwiringworkorforanyscheduledelectricalworkthatisbeingperformed.
● Tightenscrewsaccordingtothefollowingtorque.

M4: 0.7to1.0ft·lbs(1.0to1.3N·m)
● Secureallcablestogetherwithzip-tiesandsealtheconnectingholeagainsttheonslaughtof
moisture and insects.
● Runtheelectricalwiringthroughtheconnectingholeinthesidecoverwhenusingconduit.
● Securethewiredcontrollercableusingthecableclampinsidetheelectricalbox.
