Using the Image Stabilizer
Reduces blurring of images due to camera shake.

Check whether the image stabilizer feature
is turned ON or OFF.
If the image stabilizer icon (i/j) does not
appear on the screen display, the image
stabilizer function is OFF.

Press the [OIS/6] button to turn on the
optical image stabilizer. Select [Camera
Function
] B [Use with DIS] to set the
electronic image stabilizer.

We recommend setting
both [OIS] and [Use with
DIS] to “Off” when using the tripod to shoot
objects with less movements.

The
electronic image
stabilizer is most effective
at a shutter speed faster than 1/250 of a second.

The most appropriate shutter speed is
automatically selected during full auto.

When [Record Set] is set to “4K” or “High-
Speed”, [Use with DIS] is fixed at “Off” and
cannot be selected. Optical image stabilizer will
be activated.

Regardless of the [OIS] settings, when [Use with
DIS] is set to “On”, the angle of view will be
narrower.
In 35mm conversion, 29.6 mm to 355 mm will be
converted to 34.8 mm to 446.7 mm.
The Z display which shows the zoom position
will be changed from Z00~ to Z10~.

Correction by this feature may not be sufficient
when camera shake is too strong.

“OIS” is assigned to the [OIS/6] button in factory
default.

“OIS” can also be assigned to other user
buttons.
