KPC-9612 Version 5.2 July 19, 1994
62
Pressing B will transmit a 4800 Hz square wave which can used to check for proper transmit/re-
ceive filtering.
Pressing R allows adjustment of the receive equalization using the Signal Quality output (pin 8 on
the DB-15 connector).
Pressing T will transmit a scrambled signal until a key is pressed to allow another station to adjust
its receiver. This may also be used to adjust your transmit deviation using R-32 and J7.
Pressing X will exit the Calibrate Mode and reset the KPC-9612.
After entering the Calibrate Mode for the 9600 baud port, you should use the T option to transmit
a continuous signal, and adjust R-32 for approximately 3 kHz deviation. Press any key to stop
transmitting.
If you have another KPC-9612 user close to you, have that station transmit a calibrate signal to
you. Measure the dc voltage on pin 8 of the DB-15 connector (or test point J). It should show
nearly 3 VDC if the receive equalization is correct
If you do not read nearly 3 Volts, place jumper J8 on the center post and post 2, then adjust R-33
for the maximum reading on your voltmeter.
