Stitch selector
APPLICATIONS
This is the same type of stitch used by the
garment industry in making sportswear.
It is used for seams of 3/8 ” to 1/4 ” . The
seam is formed and finished in one operation.
It must be used when you are making
swimwear, ski pants and other garments that
require stretch.
Stitch so the needle pierces the fabric just
short of the outside edge.
Raw or worn edges of older garments can be
overcast to prevent further raveling.
Note: To sew overcast stretch stitch in the
opposite direction, see following page,
serging (or pine leaf) applications.
