7.5 Application table (recommendations)
Preparation of the standard sample:
-
Distribute the sample evenly on the aluminium tray.

Reduce the sample to small pieces and distribute evenly on the aluminium
tray.
Preparation of special samples:
-
A glass fibre filter can be used if the test material is sensitive or difficult to dis-
tribute (e.g. mercury).

Apply the sample evenly to the glass fibre filter and cover with a second glass
fibre filter.
-
The glass fibre filter can also be used for protection against material splashes
(every splash adulterates the final result).
