6 Maintenance
6.1 Maintenance intervals
The grease separator system must be serviced once a year by a qualied person*. In addition to emptying, the
following jobs must be carried out:
The term “qualied” is used to describe employees at the owner-operators or from third parties who, on account
of their training, knowledge and practical experience, can guarantee that they carry out evaluations or tests in a
professional way in the respective eld.
Check on the inner walls of the sludge trap and the grease separator.
Records of the ndings and work carried out must be kept in the operating log and evaluated.
The mechanical assemblies must be maintained.
6.2 Troubleshooting
Permanent odour development
Problem Possible cause Action
Odour pollution Wastewater pipes leaking. Check rm t and seals, repair if necessary.
No vent pipe, cross-section too
small.
Retrot on-site.
Closed room with no air exchange. Create venting possibilities, forced venting.
System parts are leaking Eliminate leaks
