5 Performance Tests and Calibration
66 Keysight U1241B and U1242B User’s and Service Guide
Input Connections
Test connections to the multimeter are best accomplished using the K-type
thermocouple wire and mini-connectors for temperature measurement. The
J-type thermocouple wire and mini-connectors can also be used for temperature
measurements (for U1242B). Shielded, twisted-pair, PTFE interconnect cables of
minimum length are recommended between the calibrator and the multimeter.
Cable shields should be earth ground referenced. This configuration is
recommended for optimal noises and settling time performance during
calibration.
Performance Verification Tests
The performance verification tests are recommended as acceptance tests when
you first receive the multimeter. The acceptance test results should be compared
against the one year test limits. After acceptance, you should repeat the
performance verification tests at every calibration interval.
If the multimeter fails performance verification, adjustment or repair is required.
NOTE
Users are highly recommended to read the Test Considerations before
performing performance verification tests.
