System Sizing TQ 172 / 173
In the application of the TQ 172 / 173 Series wall mount systems, three important site variables must be taken
into account:
Water Temperature
Inlet Pressure
Inlet Water Quality
To determine the output performance of the unit, a compensated inlet pressure must be determined. The
inlet pressure is compensated based on the quality of the inlet water. For each 100 TDS, 1 psi is reduced for
the actual inlet pressure.
Example:
Actual Inlet Pressure 55 psi
Inlet TDS 1,000 mg/l
TDS Pressure Reduction: 1,000 mg/l / (100 (mg/l)/psi) = 10 psi
Compensated Inlet Pressure: 55 psi – 10 psi = 45 psi
