Beforedeployingthetransponder,itisimportanttodothefollowingcheckstomake
suretheoperationgoessmoothly.
Context
ItisrecommendedtotestthetransponderwiththeTestandCongurationunit(TTC)to
makesurethetransponderisworkingproperlybeforeoperation.
Procedure
1Makesurethelockingcordisinplace.
2Iftheunithasbeenalteredfromthefactorypre-sets,checkthattheunitis
conguredaccordingtoyourrequirements.
3Makesurethebatteryisfullycharged.
4Pushthepressurereliefvalveintoconrmthatitisushwiththeendcap.
5SwitchthetransponderONbyinsertingtheon/offplug.
6PerformanacoustictestusingaTransponderTestandConguration(TTC)unit:
aInterrogatethetransponder.
bReadbatterystatusandconrmthatitwilllastfortheupcomingoperation.
cReadthepowersettingandconrmitiscorrectfortheupcomingoperation.
Result
Thetransponderisthenreadyforuse.
Deployment
Thetransponderisdesignedforoperationinwateronly.Thetranspondermaybe
operatedinairfortestpurposesoverashortperiodoftime.
Prerequisites
Thetranspondermustbechargedbeforeuse.Itisrecommendedtotestthetransponder
withtheTestandCongurationunit(TTC)tomakesurethetransponderisworking
properlybeforeoperation.
Description
Whenyoutthetransponderontoavehicle/structure,theunitmustbepositionedwith
thetransduceruprightandtheremustbeaclearlineofsightbetweenthetransduceron
thetransponderandthevessel’stransducer.Useahoseclampwithrubberprotectionto
securethetransponder.
