Disposeofthebatteriesinaccordancewithlocal,stateandfederallawsandregulations
forbatteries.
Alithiumthionylchloridebatterydoesnotcontainanyheavymetals,andisthereforenot
regardedasspecialwaste(containsonlybiodegradableparts).
Ausedtransponderlithiumbatterycancontainasignicantamountofresidualenergy.
Itisthedangerofexplosionthatpresentsaproblemwhendisposingabattery.Used
batteriesmustthereforebehandledwiththesamecareasnewones.

Forsafedisposal,contactthenearestlocalcompanythathasbeenapprovedtocollect
anddisposeoflithiumbatteries.
SECTION14:Transportinformation
TransportationofthecNODEMiniSmustbeperformedinaccordancewithrulesand
regulationsstatedfortransportationofdangerousgoodsintheapplicablecountries.
Requiredbatterystatefortransportationis30%orlessremainingcapacitytocomply
withregulations.

EachcNODEMiniSistransportedasaclosedandsealedunit,andshallnotbe
openedbyunauthorizedpersonnel.
Asabatterywithlessthan100Whcapacity,thetransportationismadeaccording
toICAO/IATApackinginstructions967SectionII;Cellsorbatteriesinstalled
inequipment.
ThecNODEMiniSmustbeshippedinaccordancewiththeprevailingnational
regulations;UNNo.3481,Miscellaneous(LithiumIonbatteriesincludedin
equipment).

SeparatebatteriesconformtoICAO/IATApackinginstructions965SectionII;
Cellsorbatteryinapackage,withoutelectronicequipment.
