1. Introduction
The D3M is a combined gamma-neutron Personal Radiation Detector (PRD) dosimeter
with a high sensitivity and small form factor. It continuously scans and monitors the
environment for radiological threats and alerts the user when it detects a gamma
and/or neutron radioactive source. This rapid-response PRD is designed to be body-
worn. The display screen shows dose rate, accumulated dose and alarms when the
determined thresholds have been exceeded, alerting the user via audio and haptic
(vibration) alarms of the threat. The D3M provides the user with accurate dose
measurements and accumulated gamma dose over a large dose range of up to 100 R/h
(1 Sv/h) combined with a very low false alarm rate.
The D3M can be used in isolation as a PRD or with the SIGMA LE app to create a
networked solution that allows multiple detectors to be tracked and monitored.
