When the D3M is successfully paired to the smartphone, the LED will blink
consistently with a blue light.
The next time that the phone and detector are switched on, they will automatically
connect via Bluetooth.
6.1 Pairing via USB
The D3M detector can also be connected to a smartphone using a USB connection.
Connecting the devices in this way means that the LED will flash green.
A pop-up will appear on the screen asking to allow the SIGMA app to access the
D3M. Click “Use by default for this USB device” and then click “OK”.
Ensure that the connection is successful by going to the SIGMA application > Menu >
Sigma Service > Sensors and checking that the Kromek D3M is highlighted green.
6.2 SIGMA LE App
The SIGMA LE app can be used when the D3M device is connected to a smartphone
for isotope ID. Using this app also turns the D3M into a part of the larger SIGMA
system, thereby ensuring that the device contributes to a networked system of
detectors used for radiation monitoring of a given area. More information on this
