prestretching of between 5–15%. Whether prestretching of between 5–15% has been achieved
can be checked as follows.

• Using a film pen, draw two horizontal lines (1) at a distance X=100 mm on the film.
• Cut out the piece (2) all around the two drawn lines. Make sure to cut out all film layers.
• Allow all film layers of the cut-out piece (2) to rest for at least 3 minutes.
• Measure the distance X between the drawn lines (1).

required film layers depend on the condition of the crops.
With round bales whose diameter measures more than 130 cm and/or very dry or very wet
crops, KRONE recommends at least one additional film layer.
