What to do if my KTM 625 SXC engine doesn't crank?
    • T
      Troy MendezAug 18, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine doesn't crank, first, ensure the ignition is turned on. If that's not the issue, the battery might be discharged, requiring a recharge. If the problem persists, check the ignition lock and emergency OFF switch, or examine the fuses for the safe-starting system (SXC: fuse (3), SMC: fuse (2)) and the main fuse. If the fuse blows again, it is recommended to contact a KTM dealer.

What to do if my KTM Motorcycle engine overheats?
    • D
      Debbie JonesAug 21, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine overheats, first check if there is sufficient cooling liquid and refill if necessary, also check the cooling system for leaks. Clean the radiator if the fins are dirty. If foam forms in the cooling system, replace the cooling liquid with a brand-name antifreeze. Check for bent radiator hoses and replace or shorten them. For SMC models, check the fan fuse and the thermoswitch. If problems persist, contact a KTM dealer.

Why does my KTM 625 SXC Motorcycle battery keep discharging?
    • B
      brian07Aug 25, 2025
Your KTM Motorcycle battery might be discharging because the ignition was left on. Recharge the battery. Also, the battery might not be charging because of a problem with the generator. In this case, remove the seat and check the voltage regulator connections. It is recommended that a KTM dealer check the voltage regulator and generator.

Why KTM 625 SXC engine will not reach full power?
    • B
      baileychristopherAug 27, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine will not reach full power, the fuel supply may be partially interrupted, or the carburetor may be dirty, so clean and check the fuel system and carburetor. If the float leaks, replace it. If the air filter is very dirty, clean or replace it. If the valve clearance is too small, have it adjusted. If there is loss of compression because the hand decompressor has no play, check the setting of the hand decompression cable. If the electronic ignition timing is faulty, have the ignition system checked.

What causes high oil consumption in a KTM Motorcycle?
    • P
      Paul JohnstonAug 30, 2025
High oil consumption in your KTM Motorcycle can be caused by a buckling gear ventilation hose, which should be readjusted or replaced. Also, check the engine oil level when the engine is warm and correct it if it's too high. Finally, the engine oil might be too thin, so use a thicker engine oil.

What to do if KTM 625 SXC Motorcycle engine fails to idle?
    • B
      Benjamin NewtonSep 2, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine fails to idle, the idling jet may be clogged. In this case, disassemble the carburetor and clean the jets. The adjusting screws on the carburetor may also be incorrectly adjusted, so have the carburetor adjusted. A defective spark plug can also cause this issue, so replace the spark plug. Finally, a defective ignition system can be the cause, so have the ignition system checked.

Why KTM 625 SXC engine does not rev high?
    • R
      Robert ChurchSep 6, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine does not rev high, the carburetor fuel level might be too high because the float needle is dirty or worn out, so dismount the carburetor and check if it is worn out. If the float leaks, replace the float needle. If the carburetor jets are loose, tighten the jets. If the electronic ignition timing is faulty, have the ignition system checked.

    • L
      Leah PayneNov 15, 2025
If your KTM Motorcycle engine cranks but doesn’t start, make sure the fuel tap is open and that there is fuel in the tank. Ensure you are using the choke or warm start device correctly. If the motorcycle has been out of operation for more than a week, drain the old fuel from the float chamber. Check for fuel supply interruptions by removing the drain plug from the carburetor. If the engine is flooded, fully open the throttle when starting, or replace the spark plug. Clean or replace a sooty or wet spark plug. Adjust the spark plug electrode gap to 0.9 mm. Inspect the spark plug connector and spark plug for faults, ensuring a strong spark is produced. Clean the plug connections of the CDI-unit, pulse generator, and ignition coil with contact spray. Finally, check for water in the carburetor...
