11.9 Removing the lower triple clamp
Preparatory work
– Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 44)
– Remove the front wheel. ( p. 84)
– Remove the fork legs. ( p. 45)
– Remove the start number plate. ( p. 53)
– Remove front fender. ( p. 54)
– Remove the handlebar cushion.

Main work

Pull fuel tank breather

out of the steering stem.

Loosen screw

. Remove nut

, pull off the upper triple
clamp with the handlebar in an upward direction, and hang it
to the side.
Info
Cover the components to protect them against damage.
Do not kink the cables and lines.

Remove protective ring

– Take off the lower triple clamp with the steering stem in a
downward direction.
– Remove the upper steering head bearing.
