FAN BELT
BAdjusting fan belt tension
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or death:
A Be sure to stop the engine and
remove the key before checking the
belt tension.
A Be sure to reinstall the detached
safety shield after maintenance or
checking.
1. Stop the engine and remove the key.
2. Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt between the
pulleys.
3. If tension is incorrect, loosen the alternator mounting
bolts and, using a lever placed between the
alternator and the engine block, pull the alternator
out until the belt tension reaches the proper range.
4. Replace fan belt if it is damaged.
A If belt is loosen or damaged and the fan is damaged,
it could result in overheats or insufficient charging.
Correct or replace belt.
A Use a sonic tension meter to measure tension. Make
sure to measure properly according to the operation
manual of the device being used.
A Measure immediately after installing the belt without
rotating the pulleys.
Measure at location B in the figure with L as the
distance between the pulleys.
A For belt specifications, contact your KUBOTA dealer.
A If a tension meter cannot be used, adjust based on
the deflection.
The deflection must be as indicated by A in the
figure, when pressing the middle of the belt between
the pulleys.
