Thedefaultmap,Linear,allowsMIDIvelocitiestopassunchanged.Light1‐3makeit
increasinglyeasiertoproducehighMIDIvelocityvaluesforthesamekeystrikevelocity
(with
Light3beingtheeasiest,)sothesemapsmayworkbetterforuserswhoplaywithalighter
touch.Hard1‐3makeitincreasinglyhardertoproducehighMIDIvelocityvaluesforthesame
keystrikevelocity(withHard3beingthehardest,)sothesemapsmayworkbetter
forusers
whoplaywithahardertouch.PianoTouchsimulatesthegeneralvelocityresponseofan
acousticpiano,andisbestsuitedforplayingacousticpianoprograms.EasyTouchissimilarto
theLightsettings,makinghighvelocitieseasiertoplay,butitallowsmoresensitivecontrolover
playing
highvelocitiesbynotboostingtheMIDIvelocityforfaststrikevelocitiesasmuchasit
doesformediumstrikevelocities.GMReceivemimicsthevelocitymapcommonlyusedby
keyboardsthatusetheGeneralMIDI(GM)soundset.TheGMReceivemapmakesmedium
strikevelocitiesproducehigherMIDIvelocities
comparedtotheLinearmap.GMReceiveeffects
notesfromthePC3’skeyboardaswellastheMIDIinport.Thismapisautomaticallyusedwhen
thePC3isinGMmode(seeGeneralMIDIMode(GMOn,GMOff)below,)thoughusersmay
wanttousetheGMReceive
mapwhengeneratingMIDIoutsideofGMmodewhichwilllater
beplayedbackbyaGMsystem.
