Editing Samples
ToentertheSampleEditor,firstselecttheprogramyouwishtoeditinProgrammode.Withthe
programselected,presstheEditbuttontoentertheProgramEditor.Intheprogrameditorthe
KEYMAPpagewillbeselected(ifnotpresstheKEYMAPsoftbutton.)Withthe KeyMap
parameterselected
ontheKEYMAPpage,presstheEditbuttonagaintoentertheKeymap
Editor.OntheEditKeymappage,selecttheKeyRangeparameterandusetheAlphaWheelor‐/
+buttonstochooseoneoftheavailablekeyranges(ifthereismorethanonekeyrange.)Youcan
edittheexisting
sampleofakeyrange,orchooseanewsampleforthe keyrangeandeditthat.
WhentheKeymapparameterisselectedyoucanholdtheEnterbuttonandtriggernotesto
selectdifferentkeyranges.
Ifyouwanttoselectadifferentsample,usethecursorbuttonstoselecttheSample
parameter.
UsetheAlphaWheeltoselectasample.PresstheEditbuttononcemore,andyou’llenterthe
SampleEditor.Thesamplewillplaythroughtheeffectsofthecurrentprogram.Thenameof
stereosamplesendwithanS.Touseastereosample,theStereoparametermust
besettoOnin
theProgramEditor,andtwokeymapsmustbeselected,seeTheKEYMAPPage on page 6‐19of
ThePC3Musician’sGuidefordetails.
Therearetwosampleeditingpages—MISC(Miscellaneous)and TRIM.Thesoftbuttonsfor
thesepagesarevisiblewhenyouenterthe SampleEditor.You
cantriggernotesatanytime
whileyou’reediting,tohearyourchangesasyoumakethem.Whenyouhavefinishedediting
yoursampleorsamples,seethepreviewfunctiononpage 7‐18forawaytoautomaticallycreate
aprogramandkeymapusing asampleorgroupofsampleroots.

OntheMISCpage,you’llsetseveralparametersthataffectthebehaviorofthecurrentsample.
Theseparametersaffecttheentiresample.Therightsideofthetoplinedisplaystheroot
numberandRootKeyofthesample.Forstereosamples,LorRisdisplayedaftertheRoot#
parameterto
indicatethatyouareviewingparametersfortheleftorrightchannelofthesample.
UsetheChan/Layerbuttonstomovebetweenchannelsofstereosamples.Althoughyoucan
editparametersfortheleftand rightchannels ofasample,bothchannelscanonlybeheardif
theStereoparameter
issettoOnintheProgramEditor,andthesamekeymapisselectedforthe
Keymap1andKeymap2parametersintheProgramEditor.IftheStereoparameterissettoOffin
theProgramEditor,onlytheleftchannelofstereosampleswillbeheard(inmono.)Ifthe
sample
ispartofagroupofsampleroots,youcanalsousetheChan/Layerbuttonstoscroll
througheachsampleinthegroup.ArepresentativeMISCpageisshownbelow:
