Troubleshooting Guide
Problem
DO NOT insert a key! Insert “B” into the
SmartKey hole and turn the cylinder 90°.
The shackle will open.
DO NOT insert a key.
Rotate shackle.
The shackle was closed during the
re-keying procedure after the old key
was removed from the padlock.

Insert “B” fully and rmly into the SmartKey
hole. You may feel the tool click inside the lock.
Remove “B”.

FULLY insert new key.
Close shackle. The key
will automatically rotate
back to the home position.
The lock has been
successfully re-keyed.

Padlock Unusable After Re-keying Procedure

Replace Unusable Padlock

Padlock is unusable after incorrect re-keying; a new padlock is required.

New Key Not Turning After Re-keying

Find Key Programming Depth

Gently pull key out while jiggling to find programming depth; turn cylinder 90°.

Insert and Remove Re-key Tool

Insert tool 'B' firmly into SmartKey hole, feel for click, then remove tool.

Finalize Re-keying with New Key

Push key fully in, close shackle; key rotates to home position, re-keying successful.
