element
in
a plastic
bag;
then
pour
in
air
filter oil
and
work
the
oil
into
the
el
ement.
Insert
the
forming
spring into
the
element
with
the
closely
wrapped
end
of
the
spring
toward
the
open
end
of
the
ele
ment.

the

filt

ement
from
the
ai
r
filter
housing

nd
separa
te
th
e
foam
eleme
n
t
from
the
spring.

A
torn
air
filter
element
can
cause
damage
to
the ATV
engine
.
Dirt
and
dust
may
get
inside the engine if
the
element
is
torn.
Carefully
examine
the
element for
tears
before
and
after
c
l
eaning
it.
Replace
the
element
with
a
new
one
if
it
is
torn.
6.
Clea
n
any
dirt
or
debris
from
inside
the
ai
r
clea
ner.
Be
sure
no
dirt
enters
the
carburetor
(if
equipped).
7.
Place
the
filter
assembly
in
the
air filter
housing
making
sure
it
is
proper
l
y
positioned
and
properly
seated
with
the
filter element
straight
i
n
the
hous-
ing.

Fill a
wash
pan
la
rger
than
the
element
with
a
non-
flammable
clea
ning
solvent;
then
dip
the
el
e-
ment
in
the
solvent
and
wash
it
.
Failure to
properly
seat
and align
the
filter
element
may
cause
severe
engine
damage
.
8.
Install
the
air filter
housing
cover
and
secure
with
the
l
ocking
tabs.
