Jam Inside the Printer

Open the printer’s top cover.

Open the printer’s front cover.

Lift the process unit together with the
toner container out of the printer.
The drum in the process unit is
sensitive to light. Never expose
the drum even to normal office
lighting (500 lux) for more than
five minutes. Also, store it in a
level place even temporarily.

Open the feed cover (metal) as shown in
the figure and remove the jammed
paper.
When pulling the paper, pull
gently so as not to tear it. Torn
pieces of paper are difficult to
remove and may be easily over-
looked, preventing recovery
from the jam.
