Predictive Speed Control
Predictive speed control combines route data from the navigation system
(including speed limits, any uphill sections and bend radii), information
from the traffic sign recognition system and the adaptive driving
assistance.
The system intervenes by braking when speed limits are detected or for
given road features (bends, intersection or roundabout), following which it
will accelerate again until the set speed is reached.
Following Distance Warning
The following distance warning system measures the space from the
vehicle in front as a function of time and warns the driver when this is
shorter than the set distance.
The following distance warning system is activated automatically when
adaptive driving assistance is not enabled, the vehicle is travelling at least
40 mph (65 km/h), and a warning threshold has been set.
The speed setting can be set on the multimedia system. Select the initial
screen, then open the menu URUS > Driver assist >
> Following
distance warning and set the required distance.
Lane Assist
The lane assist system uses a camera installed near the rearview mirror to detect the lane markings and adjust the steering to keep
the vehicle in the centre of the detected lane.
Lane assist can be enabled and disabled from the multimedia system. Select the initial screen, then open the menu URUS > Driver
assist >
> Adaptive driving assistance and enable the corresponding slider.
The system begins operation after the adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning system have been enabled.
The driver must, nevertheless, keep their hands on the steering wheel.
