5.11 Condensate Piping
Use materials acceptable to authority having jurisdiction. In
absence of such authority:
USA - PVC or CPVC per ASTM D1785/D2845 Cement or
primer per ASME D2564 or F493.
Canada - CSA or ULC certied PVC/CPVC pipe, ttings
and cement.
No external trap needed.
Connect condensate hose, hose clamps, and coupling to
boiler drain trap as shown in gure 5-26.
Connect condensate piping to 3/4" PVC for 205 or 1/2"
PVC for 150 as shown.
Slope condensate drain pipe minimum 1/4" per foot
(21 mm/m) away from boiler.
Support condensate pipe to eliminate any sages.
Use eld source condensate pump, designated for use with
condensing boiler, if boiler located below disposal point.
Condensate pump should have overow switch.
Condensate from Boiler is slightly acidic and may cause
property damage if overow.
Field source condensate neutralizing kit as required
by authority having jurisdiction or for environmentally
friendly condensate disposal.
