YourcomputerhastwoslotsforinstallingorreplacingDDR3DIMMsthatprovideuptoamaximumof16GB
systemmemory.Wheninstallingorreplacingamemorymodule,use2GB,4GB,or8GBDDR3DIMMs
inanycombinationuptoamaximumof16GB.
Toinstallorreplaceamemorymodule,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputeranddisconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
2.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage36.
3.Laythecomputeronitssideforeasieraccesstothesystemboard.
4.Removetheheatsinkfanduct.See“Replacingtheheatsinkandfanassembly”onpage54.
5.Locatethememoryslots.See“Locatingpartsonthesystemboard”onpage13.
6.Removeanypartsthatmightpreventaccesstothememoryslots.
