StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram
TostarttheSetupUtilityprogram,dothefollowing:
1.Approximatelythreeminutesaftertheserverisconnectedtoaworkingelectricaloutlet,thepower
buttonbecomesactive.TurnontheserverandthePOSTrunsautomatically.Youwillthenseethelogo
screen.ThePOSTisasetoftestsandproceduresthatareperformedeachtimeyouturnonyourserver.
2.PressDelassoonasyouseethelogoscreen.TheSetupUtilityprogramopens.Ifyouhavesetan
administratorpassword,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordtoaccessthefullSetupUtility
programmenu.Ifyoudonottypethecorrectadministratorpassword,alimitedSetupUtilityprogram
menuisavailable.
Note:YoucanalsopressTABassoonasyouseethelogoscreentoreviewthePOSTprocessand
information.
3.TheSetupUtilityprogrammenulistsvariousitemsaboutthesystemcongurationsettings.Selectthe
settingstovieworchange.
WhenworkingwiththeSetupUtilityprogram,youmustusethekeyboard.Thekeysusedtoperformvarious
tasksaredisplayedatthebottomofeachscreen.
Note:Usethedefaultsettingforanyitemyouarenotfamiliarwith.Donotchangethevalueofunfamiliar
itemsoritemsthatarenotmentionedinthismanualtoavoidanyunexpectedproblems.Ifyoucannotturn
ontheserverbecauseofincorrectBIOSsettings,refertoTable6“Jumpersettings”onpage17
andusethe
jumperstoclearCMOSandrecovertothefactorydefaultsettings.
