InstallingthedriverforaCNAcard
ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstallthedriverforaCNAcard.
ToinstallthedriverforaCNAcard,dothefollowing:
1.CopytheCNAcarddriverfromtheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDtoyourlocaldrive.Unzipthedriver
filetoafolder.CopythefoldertoyourUSBstoragedeviceandconnecttheUSBstoragedeviceto
yourserver.
2.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopythefolderfromyourUSBstoragedevicetothe/tmpdirectory
onyourserver.
3.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriver:
•ForFibreChanneloverEthernet(FCoE)andiSCSIoverEthernet(ISOE)protocols:
cd/tmp
cdqla2xxx-src-v8.05.00.03.06.0-k
chmodu+x*
./build.sh
Note:Inthecommandlines,qla2xxx-src-v8.05.00.03.06.0-krepresentsthenameofthedriver
packagefileandbuild.shrepresentsthedrivername.Usethecorrespondingfilenameonyourserver.
•ForNICprotocol:
cd/tmp
cdqlcnic-5.2.29 .45
chmodu+x*
./qlcnic-src-install.sh–i
Note:Inthecommandlines,qlcnic-5.2.29.45representsthenameofthedriverpackagefileand
qlcnic-src-install.shrepresentsthedrivername.Usethecorrespondingfilenameonyourserver.
4.Restartyourserver.
InstallingtheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11operatingsystemwith
ServicePack2
ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstalltheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x64orx86)operating
systemwithServicePack2.
Note:ThemaximumsystemmemorythattheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x86)operatingsystem
cansupportis16GB.
ToinstalltheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x64orx86)operatingsystemwithServicePack2,do
thefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
2.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontainsthedriverfortheonboardSASsoftwareRAIDtoyour
server.
3.Inthe“SUSELinuxEnterpriseServerWelcome”window,pressF6andselectYes.
Note:IfyouareinstallingtheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x86)operatingsystemwithServicePack
2andyourserverisinstalledwithanX540EthernetcardortwoX520Ethernetcards,usethefollowing
command:
brokenmodules=isci
4.SelectInstallationandpressEnter.
5.IntheDriverUpdatesaddedwindow,selectOKandpressEnter.
