InstallingtheHyper-VServer2012R2operatingsystem
ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstalltheHyper-VServer2012R2operatingsystem.
ToinstalltheHyper-VServer2012R2operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
2.WhenthemessagePressanykeytobootfromcdordvd...isdisplayed,pressanykey.Ifthemessage
WindowsSetup[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.Waitseveralminutesforthesystemtoload
thefiles.
3.Whenthe“MicrosoftHyper-VServer2012R2”windowisdisplayed,configurethelanguageandother
optionsasyouneedandthenclickNext.
4.ClickInstallnow.
5.ReadthelicensetermsandselectIacceptthelicenseterms.Then,clickNext.
6.Selectthetypeofinstallationasyouneed.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatCustom:
InstallthenewerversionofHyper-VServeronly(advanced)isselectedinthisstep.
7.Inthe“WheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?”window,clickDriveoptions(advanced).
8.Selecttheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperatingsystem,andthenclickNew.
9.Typetheamountofspace(inMB),andthenclickApply.
10.Inthe“MicrosoftHyper-VServerSetup”window,clickOK.
11.Ensurethatthedrivepartitioniscorrect,andthenclickNext.Theinstallationbegins.
Note:Y ourserverwillrestartseveraltimesduringtheinstallation.
12.Whenprompted,pressCtrl+Alt+Delete.
13.ClickAdministrator.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentochangethepasswordandthenlog
intotheoperatingsystem.
Installingthedriverforthechipset
Toinstallthedriverforthechipset,dothefollowing:
1.DownloadthedriverforthechipsetfromtheLenovoWebsitetoaUSBstoragedevice.Then,connect
theUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.Themostup-to-datedevicedriversforvariousservermodelsare
alwaysavailableontheLenovoWebsiteat:
http://www.lenovo.com/drivers
2.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriver:
