ConfiguringtheTPMfunction
TheTPMworksasahardwaresecuritysolutiontohelpyoutoencryptdataandprotecttheserver.The
TPMfunctionisonlyavailablewhenthereisaTPMinstalledinyourserver.See“InstallingtheTPM”on
page129.YoucanpurchaseaTPMfromLenovo.
AfterinstallingaTPM,youneedtocheckiftheTPMfunctionisenabledintheSetupUtilityprogram.
ToenabletheTPMfunctionintheSetupUtilityprogram,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage61.
2.OntheSystemSecuritymenu,selectTPMSettings➙TPMSupport.
3.Dooneofthefollowing:
•IfTPMSupportissettoEnabled,theTPMSecurityFeatureitemisdisplayed.SetTPMSecurity
FeaturetoActivate.
•IfTPMSupportissettoDisabled,dothefollowing:
a.SetTPMSupporttoEnabledandpressF10tosavesettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.
Theserverwillrestart.
b.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.OntheSystemSecuritymenu,selectTPMSettings.Then,set
TPMSecurityFeaturetoActivate.
4.PressF10tosavesettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.Theserverwillrestarttoenablethe
TPMfunction.
SettinganEthernetconnectorforsystemmanagement
TheRJ-45Ethernetconnectorontherearoftheserverisforsystemmanagementbydefault.Youalsocan
usetheEthernetconnectorontheinstalledAnyFabricadapterforsystemmanagement.
TosettheEthernetconnectorforsystemmanagement,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage61.
2.OntheTSMSettingsmenu,selectTSMNetworkSettings➙TSMNICSelection.
3.Dooneofthefollowing:
•TosettheRJ-45Ethernetconnectorforsystemmanagement,selectDedicatedPort.
•TosettheEthernetconnectorontheinstalledAnyFabricadapterforsystemmanagement,select
SharedAnyFabricPort.
4.PressF10tosavesettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.
ExitingtheSetupUtilityprogram
Afteryoufinishviewingorchangingsettings,pressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammaininterface.
Ifyouareonanestedsubmenu,pressEscrepeatedlyuntilyoureachthemaininterface.Then,youcando
oneofthefollowingtoexittheSetupUtilityprogram:
•IfyouwanttosavethenewsettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram,pressF10orselectSave&Exit➙
SaveChangesandReset.Otherwise,yourchangeswillnotbesaved.
