Install memory, firmware, or option cards
Installing an
option card
Your printer has one option card slot that
supports the following option cards:
• Hard disk with adapter card
• MarkNet internal print server
• RS-232C Serial/Parallel 1284-C
Interface Card
Follow the instructions in this section to
install your option card:
1 Remove the system board access
panel (see page 25).
2 Remove the screw from the metal
plate that covers the connector
slot, and then lift the plate off.
Save the screw.
Install a MarkNet internal print server to
add an Ethernet or Token-Ring port for
connecting your printer to a network.
Install an RS-232C Serial/Parallel
1284-C Interface Card to add a
serial port or a parallel port.
Install a hard disk with adapter card
to add additional storage space to
your printer.
