What to do if my LG GH22LP20 cannot read or write discs?

If your LG DVD Drive is having trouble reading or writing discs, consider these points: Ensure the rest of your system (CPU, hard disk, etc.) is functioning correctly. Check the disc for dirt or scratches. Avoid running screen savers or other applications while writing data. Make sure there's enough free space on the disc. See if writing fails even during a simulation test. Verify the disc is loaded correctly (label up) and the drive is installed in the correct orientation. Also, avoid using the drive or disc immediately after moving them from a cold to a warm environment. If you are using a 40-pin IDE cable, replacing it with an 80-pin type is highly recommended.
