8.STARTING THE ENGINE
Procedure for Starting a Cold Engine
WARNING
Never run an engine in an enclosed area. Carbon monoxide
exhaust gas is poisonous and can cause severe injury or death.
Always start engines outdoors.
1. Sit on the vehicle.
2. Turn the main switch to “ ”position.
3. Shift into neutral, apply the handbrake lever and press the
engine start button.
4. Do not press the throttle more than 20％ while starting the
engine.
5. Activate the starter for a maximum of five seconds, releasing
the button when the vehicle starts. If engine does not start,
release the starter for another five seconds. Repeat this
procedure until engine starts.
