7.2 Connecting to Controller/PLC/HMI
7.2.1 Communication Cable Connection
1. Connect the communications cable to the drive and the controller/PLC/HMI when the power is
cut off. Use the drive terminal RJ45 for Modbus communication.
Note: To prevent the interference, separate the communications cables from the main circuit
cables, power cable and other wiring. Always use shielded cables for the communications cables,
and shielded clamps.
2. Ensure the termination resistor is installed in the last drive of the slave series.
3. Turn the power on.
4. Set the parameters needed for the communication(E6 - 00 to E6 - 12) using the keypad.
5. Shut the power off and wait until the display goes out.
6. Turn the power on.
7. The communication between the drive and the controller/PLC/HMI is now ready.
7.2.2 Termination Resistor Setting for Multiple Connections
The default of termination resistor for RS-485 communication is OFF. Switch this DIP switch to ON
