8.6 Boost Surface Pumps
8.6.1 Placement and Foundation
WARNING – PS2 Boost pumps must not
be submerged in or exposed to other
sources of water, e.g. rain.
Operating noises – Make sure, by applying appropriate
measures, that the environment will not be impaired by any
sound produced by the pump.
Space – During installation, make sure that there is enough
space available to permit subsequent disassembly of the
motor unit.
WARNINGThe pump might heat up in
operation. It must be installed on a non
flammable surface.
Connecting the pump to the foundation – Fastening
the pump to the foundation should be done exclusively by
using bolts, threads or dowels in order to avoid blocking the
removal of the motor unit.
CAUTION – Inlet- and outlet-pipes must
be attached to the pump free of tension.

8.6.2 Pump Motor Wiring
L1 – L2 – L3 – ECDRIVE requires four-conductor (four-wire)
cable between the controller and the motor. The three wires
L1, L2 and L3 carry power. The fourth wire carries ground. To
reverse direction of rotation reverse any two phases.
CAUTION – No disconnect switches
must be installed between motor and
pump controller. Connecting the motor
wire to the switched-on controller can
cause damage. Such damage is excluded
from the warranty.
CAUTION – Starting the boost pump
without setting the controller to boost
mode will damage the pump. Such damage
is excluded from the warranty.
