Usage Features
Installation:
- DVR Pre-Installation: Ensure the DVR is installed in a well-ventilated and dust-free area, meeting environmental conditions and manufacturer specifications.
- Hard Disk Installation: Install a hard disk drive (HDD) by connecting the data and power cables, then securing it with screws. The DVR supports up to 8 SATA HDDs.
Front Panel Operation:
- Power Indicator: Green when NVR is powered up.
- Ready Indicator: Green when the device is running normally.
- Status Indicators: Light indicates the function of composite keys (SHIFT) or IR remote control status.
- Alarm Indicator: Red when a sensor alarm is detected.
- HDD Indicator: Blinks red when data is being read or written to the HDD.
- Tx/Rx Indicator: Green when network connection is functioning normally.
- USB Interfaces: For USB mouse and USB Hard Disk Drive (HDD).
- Composite Keys (1/MENU, 2/ABC/F1, 3/DEF/F2, 4/GHI/ESC, 5/JKL/EDIT, 6/MNO/PLAY, 7/PQRS/REC, 8/TUV/PTZ, 9/WXYZ/PREV, 0/A): These keys provide various functions such as accessing the main menu, entering numerical values, controlling PTZ, playback, record, and multi-channel display.

- Alarm Connection: Connect pluggable block from the ALARM IN/ALARM OUT terminal block.
- RS-485 and Controller Connection: Connect PTZ to the DVR's RS-485 terminal block (A+ to PTZ A+, B- to PTZ B-). For cascading devices, connect D+ to D+ and D- to D-.
- Termination Switch Operation: For ST series DVRs, the termination switch on the rear panel should be turned on/off as needed to match the impedance of the 485 wire.
Accessing by Web Browser:
- Access the device via web browser by entering the IP address.
- Supported browsers: Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome.
- Default IP address is 192.0.0.64.
- Default username is admin, password is 12345.
Live View:
- Displays the list of channels and the playing and recording status of each channel.
- Allows switching between different display modes (single, multi-window).
- Includes controls for play, pause, PTZ, digital zoom, audio, and capturing pictures.
Recording:
- Configure recording schedules (normal, motion, alarm) for each channel.
- Enable/disable recording.
Playback:
- Search and play back recorded files by date and time.
- Controls for play/pause, slow down, speed up, capture, download, video clip, and full screen.
- Instant playback by channel and all-day playback by channel are supported.
Log:
- View and export log files related to time, operation, alarm, exception, and information.
- Search logs by major type, minor type, start time, and end time.
Menu Operation:
- The menu structure is organized into categories like Playback, Export, Manual, HDD, Record, Camera, Configuration, Maintenance, and Shutdown.
- Sub-menus include Event, Alarm, Advanced, Encoding, PTZ, Network, Log Information, Live View, Upgrade, Reboot, and User management.
Startup and Shutdown:
- Proper startup and shutdown procedures are crucial to expand the service time of the DVR.
- To shut down the DVR, navigate to the Shutdown menu and confirm.
Maintenance Features
- HDD Storage Calculation: A chart is provided to estimate storage space based on bit rate, aiding in planning HDD capacity.
- Backup: Recorded files can be backed up to various devices such as USB flash drives, USB HDDs, or USB DVD writers.
- Firmware Upgrade: The DVR supports firmware upgrades to enhance functionality and fix bugs.
- System Maintenance: Includes options for system info, log management, and reboot.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the DVR is installed in a well-ventilated and dust-free environment with appropriate temperature and humidity to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
