This document describes the WAC-2019SD, a multi-purpose water quality meter designed for measuring pH, ORP, conductivity (CD), total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO), and salt. It features real-time data recording to an SD card and is suitable for a wide range of applications including water conditioning, aquariums, beverage production, fish hatcheries, food processing, photography, laboratory work, paper industry, plating industry, quality control, and schools/colleges.
Function Description:
The WAC-2019SD is a comprehensive environmental meter capable of performing multiple measurements with a single device. It can measure:
- pH/ORP: pH from 0 to 14.00 pH with ±1999 mV for ORP.
- Conductivity/TDS: Ranges include 20.00 uS, 200.0 uS, 2.000 mS, 20.00 mS, and 200.0 mS for conductivity, and 200 PPM, 2,000 PPM, 20,000 PPM, and 200,000 PPM for TDS.
- Dissolved Oxygen (DO): Measures from 0 to 20.0 mg/L (liter) and 0 to 100.0% oxygen in air.
- Salt: Measures from 0 to 12% salt (% weight).
- Hardness: Ranges from 10 PPM to 100,000 PPM.
- Resistivity: Automatic range from 5 ohm-cm to 99.99 M ohm-cm.
- Temperature: Measures from 0 to 60 °C (32 to 140 °F).
The meter uses a polarographic type oxygen probe with a temperature sensor for high-precision DO and temperature measurements. It supports automatic temperature compensation (ATC) for pH and conductivity measurements, and automatic temperature compensation for DO. It also includes built-in % SALT and Mountain Height compensation value adjustments for DO measurements. Separate probes are used for different measurement environments, ensuring flexibility and ease of operation.

- Data Hold: Freezes the display reading.

- Data Output: RS 232/USB PC computer interface. Optional RS232 cable (UPCB-02) and USB cable (USB-01) are available.

Usage Features:
- Easy Operation: Separate probes make it easy to operate in different measurement environments.
- Data Logging: Real-time SD memory card data logger records data at intervals of 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60, 120, 300, 600, 1800, 3600 seconds. Manual datalogging is also available.
- Data Transfer: Recorded data can be easily transferred to a computer via SD card, eliminating the need for extra software setup. The data is saved in an Excel-compatible format (e.g., WAC01001.XLS) for further analysis.
- Calibration:
- pH: Supports 3-point calibration (pH 7, pH 4, pH 10) for best linearity and accuracy. Manual and automatic temperature compensation (with TP-07 probe) are available.
- Conductivity/TDS: Calibration procedures include zero calibration and gain calibration. Standard solutions like 1.413 mS and 80 uS are used.
- Dissolved Oxygen: Calibration at first use is crucial. It involves immersing the probe in liquid, allowing for thermal equilibrium, and ensuring proper flow past the probe. Calibration in air is also part of the procedure, typically at 20.9% O2.
- Mode Selection: Users can select measurement modes (pH/mV, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen, pH/Oxygen, pH/Conductivity, pH/Temp./Conductivity/Oxygen) by pressing the "Function Button."
- Advanced Settings: Allows users to configure SD card format, clock time, sampling time, auto power off, beeper sound, decimal point, temperature unit, DO salt% compensation, DO height compensation, CD temperature compensation, and pH manual temperature compensation.
- Power Management: Auto power off function is available. The device can be powered by 6 AA batteries or a DC 9V adapter.
- LCD Brightness: Adjustable for different environments.
Maintenance Features:
- Battery Replacement: The meter indicates low battery. Batteries are easily replaceable by removing the battery cover.
- System Reset: A reset button is available to resolve system issues.
- Probe Maintenance:
- Dissolved Oxygen Probe: Requires regular filling of probe electrolyte (OXEL-03) and replacement of the diaphragm set (OXHD-04) to maintain accuracy. The manual provides detailed instructions for unscrewing the probe head, pouring out old electrolyte, filling new electrolyte, and screwing the probe head back on.
- Electrolyte Consideration: The oxygen probe component has a thin Teflon diaphragm. The diaphragm is permeable to oxygen molecules, and the oxygen may diffuse through the electrolyte solution. The concentration of electrolyte in the probe and its concentration in the measurement circuit are quantified.
- RS232 PC Serial Interface: Provides a 3.5 mm terminal for data output, a 16-digit stream for user-specific applications. The baud rate is 9600, with no parity, 8 data bits, and 1 stop bit.
- Optional Data Acquisition Software (SW-U801-WIN): Offers multiple display options (1/2/4/6/8 displays) and powerful application software for data logging, text, angular, chart displays, data recorder high/low limit, data query, text report, and chart report. It can retrieve .mdb data files for Excel and ACCESS, supporting wide intelligent applications.
