8 TROUBLESHOOTING
Do not clean the machine
by using metal or abrasive
devices, such as steel wool,
metal brushes, needles, etc.
or general detergents (alco-
hol, solvents, etc.).
Keeping your machine clean will prolong its
life and produce better ground co󰀨ee.
Cleaning the plastic mobile parts.
Remove the mobile parts of the machine
(cover, hopper, etc.) and wash thoroughly with
water and mild detergent.
Never wash the plastic parts
in the dishwasher.
Cleaning the machine body.
Use damp cloths to clean the machine body,
being mindful of the parts sensitive to water
like the power switch.
In case of a problem or malfunc-
tion switch off and disconnect
the appliance from the electrical
mains.
A list of possible actions to perform in case of
possible malfunctions is shown below.
If the problem persists, request the interven-
tion of maintenance personnel or contact a
MACAP dealer.
The device does not start
■ Check that the main switch is in the ON
position.
■ Check that the plug is inserted.
■ Make sure that the grinding adjustment
knob is not showing the value “0”.
■ Check that there are no foreign bodies
stuck between the grinder burrs.
The device stops as a result of motor
overheating:
■ The device switches o󰀨 automatically in
case of overheating. The safety device re-
charges automatically; wait for the motor to
cool down (from 15 to 30 minutes) before
restarting the device.
