ROLLS AND ROLL DRIVE
Roll Drive Chain Tension
Check chain tension after the first 10 hours
operation and every 100 hours or annually
thereafter, as follows:
1. Remove rubber plug at left side of chain case.
(See "Roll Drive Chain Case Lubricant" below.)
2. Chain should deflect a maximum 1/4 inch (6
mm) each way.
3. If adjustment is required:
a. Loosen nut (B).
b. Loosen two bolts (C).
c. To tighten chain, rotate cam clockwise,
using a 15/16 wrench on welded nut (D).
(To loosen chain, rotate cam counter-
clockwise.)
d. Tighten nut (B) and bolts (C).
4. Check chain deflection as in step 2, and
replace plug (A).
Roll Drive Chain Case Lubricant
Check chain lubrication after the first 10 hours
operation and every 100 hours or annually
thereafter, as follows:
1. Remove rubber plug (A) from chain case.
2. Chain should be coated with grease.
3. If required, add one complete tube (400 g) of
SAE Multi-Purpose (EP) Lithium Base Grease
(NLGI Grade 2) to the chain case. Case
capacity is 2000 grams (5 tubes).
4. Replace plug (A).
