Ignition <Volvo/DC>
The ignition lock is used to switch the ignition on/off and
start/stop the engine.

Fuel preheater <DC>

The engine is equipped with a fuel preheater. Turn on the fuel
preheater in winter. There is no need for the fuel preheater in
summer.
Yellow “Engine malfunction” warning light<DC>

The yellow warning light should go off once the motor
is started.
If the yellow warning light does not go out or it lights up while
the engine is running, then there may be a motor malfunction
or fault in the motor control.
If the yellow warning light does not go out or lights up
as the MT is driving, then switch off the MT immedi-
ately and have the cause of the warning determined
and eliminated at a qualified garage.
0 OFF (All electrical loads are off, ignition key can be withdrawn).
I MT ready for operation (ignition is on, electrical loads such as
radio and two-way radio are on).
II Preheats the intake air.
III Activates the starter.
