Gear shifting <mit Betriebsartwahl>
The MT has an automatic torque converter transmission.
The torque converter transmission enables gear shifting
without interrupting the tractive power.

You use the operating mode switch to set the vehicle to
operate automatically or manually.
Select a driving program
Select the driving program depending on the load and the con-
ditions of the terrain. You will find information on gear-shifting
in section “Gear shift lever for transmission <Drehwendels-
chalter>” on page 71.
Generally, you use driving program 4 for heavy loads.
You have to use driving programs 1, 2 or 3 when the oil
temperature becomes higher than 100 °C when
approaching or driving up inclines.
If the transmission oil temperature repeatedly rises
above the permissible value while driving, it may be
a sign that you are using the wrong driving program.
In this case, choose a lower driving program.
