BLADEINSPECTION
1. Check blades for wear. Blade performance will be
reducedasbladeswearoutandarere-sharpened.
2. Check blades to see if they are bent, deformed,
damaged or split. Do not attempt to straighten or
weldthebladesforreuse.Theyshouldberemoved
anddiscarded.
BLADESHARPENINGORREPLACEMENT
IMPORTANT:Replacethe3mowerbladesatsame
timewithgenuinemanufacture'sbladesonly.Not
replacingthe3bladesatthesametimewillcausean
unbalancedcondition.
1. Iftheblade’scuttingedgeisdullornicked,itshould
be replaced or sharpened. Remove the blade by
removingthebolt5/8x7’’Gr8(item2),thespacer
(item 4), nylon insert flange lock nut (item 3) and
the washer (item 5) (see parts breakdown for
reference).Itisnotnecessarytoremovethepulley
oranyothercomponent.
DANGER
Make sure the blade is not able to turn when
removing or installing so that it does not come in
contact with tools, components or any parts of the
bodythatcancausebodilyinjuryordeath.Or,make
sureifthebladerotatestherewillbenocontactwith
anytools,componentsoranypartsofthebody.
NOTE: Careshouldbetakeninordernottoremove
anymorematerialthannecessarywhensharpening
theblade.
2.Cleanthebladeandmountingsurfaceofalldebris
before replacing or sharpening. Grind cutting edge
atthesame level astheoriginal.Sharpenonlythe
top of the cutting edge to maintain sharpness.
Sharpenata30degreeangle.
DANGER
TOPREVENTINJURIES:
Bent, deformed or split blades should be removed
from unit and discarded. Never weld a broken or
cracked blade. DO NOT attempt to straighten to
reusesuchblades.Alwaysreplacewithanewblade
toassuresafety.
WARNING
TOPREVENTINJURIES:
DO NOT attempt to modify a blade, such as hard
surfacing, hot or cold treatment or by any other
method.
CAUTION
TOPREVENTINJURIES:
ALWAYS wear eye protection and gloves while
inspecting, removing, sharpening and replacing the
mowerblades.

DANGER
Wheninstallingtheblademakesuretotightenatthe
specified torque. Always use thread locking sealant
andchangethelocknuteverytimeanutisloosened.
Always install all the parts in the same order as
shown.Notfollowingtheseinstructioncancausethe
blade to fall from the spindle causing damage,
injuriesordeath.
