BLADEINSPECTION
1. Check blades for wear. Blade performance will be
reducedasbladeswearoutandarere-sharpened.
2. Check blades to see if they are bent, deformed,
damaged or split. Do not attempt to straighten or
weldthebladesforreuse.Theyshouldberemoved
anddiscarded.
BLADESHARPENINGORREPLACEMENT
IMPORTANT:Replacethe3mowerbladesatsame
timewithgenuinemanufacture'sbladesonly.Not
replacingthe3bladesatthesametimewillcausean
unbalancedcondition.
1. Iftheblade’scuttingedgeisdullornicked,itshould
be replaced or sharpened. Remove the blade by
removingthebolt5/8x7’’Gr8(item2),thespacer
(item 4), nylon insert flange lock nut (item 3) and
the washer (item 5) (see parts breakdown for
reference).Itisnotnecessarytoremovethepulley
oranyothercomponent.
DANGER
Make sure the blade is not able to turn when
removing or installing so that it does not come in
contact with tools, components or any parts of the
bodythatcancausebodilyinjuryordeath.Or,make
sureifthebladerotatestherewillbenocontactwith
anytools,componentsoranypartsofthebody.
NOTE: Careshouldbetakeninordernottoremove
anymorematerialthannecessarywhensharpening
theblade.
2.Cleanthebladeandmountingsurfaceofalldebris
before replacing or sharpening. Grind cutting edge
atthesame level astheoriginal.Sharpenonlythe
top of the cutting edge to maintain sharpness.
Sharpenata30degreeangle.
DANGER
TOPREVENTINJURIES:
Bent, deformed or split blades should be removed
from unit and discarded. Never weld a broken or
cracked blade. DO NOT attempt to straighten to
reusesuchblades.Alwaysreplacewithanewblade
toassuresafety.
WARNING
TOPREVENTINJURIES:
DO NOT attempt to modify a blade, such as hard
surfacing, hot or cold treatment or by any other
method.
CAUTION
TOPREVENTINJURIES:
ALWAYS wear eye protection and gloves while
inspecting, removing, sharpening and replacing the
mowerblades.

DANGER
Wheninstallingtheblademakesuretotightenatthe
specified torque. Always use thread locking sealant
andchangethelocknuteverytimeanutisloosened.
Always install all the parts in the same order as
shown.Notfollowingtheseinstructioncancausethe
blade to fall from the spindle causing damage,
injuriesordeath.
