mode or intermittent ventilation) is always under-
taken. If exhaust air mode is switched on, all RLS
45 K connected to the PP 45 / PPB 30 O run with
the supply air function.
The supply air function of the PP 45 units is also
used for the volumetric flow compensation of the
PPB 30 RC units.
Humidity limit values, start delay, duration, ex-
haust air mode or intensive ventilation can be set
by the specialist installer using the commissioning
software/with the service mode (installer lever).
If demand-driven mode is switched on, air de-
humidification with the PPB 30 K/PPB 30 RC
units is continuously variable depending on the
humidity value. The function is always active. The
air volume is regulated in a linear fashion using
the set min/max humidity values.
7.6.3 Automatic dehumidification
For examples of dehumidification strategies
and splitting of the volumetric flows when us-
ing several ventilation units → PP 45/PPB 30
volumetric flows [}105].
Automatic dehumidification is always active re-
gardless of the set operating mode (automatic or
system operation).
The PPB 30 K/PPB 30 RC units automatically
start the dehumidification process (exhaust air
mode or intensive ventilation). The dehumidifica-
tion strategy is set using the commissioning soft-
ware/in service mode (installer level).
Increased wind loads (strong gusts) can in-
fluence the moisture detection of the internal
sensor due to the system.
7.6.4 Exhaust air mode configuration
Above intensive ventilation (IV), the PPB 30 K/
PPB 30 RC unit switches into exhaust air mode
(=max. air extraction at 45m³/h) until the humid-
ity falls 3% below the maximum humidity value.
In exhaust air mode, volumetric flow compensa-
tion is carried out with all ventilation units connec-
ted to the RLS 45 K or with PP 45 RC (master +
slave) or via the PPB 30 RC slave. For examples
of dehumidification strategies and splitting of the
volumetric flows → Appendix. The PP 45 and/or
PPB 30 O units connected to the RLS 45 K auto-
matically switch to supply air.
7.6.5 Intensive ventilation configuration
Above the maximum humidity value limit, the PPB
30 K/PPB 30 RC units run with intensive ventila-
tion. This mode is ended automatically when the
humidity falls 3 % below the maximum humidity
value.
Exhaust air mode/intensive ventilation can
also be started manually with the optional
buttons/switches.
Functions started manually run for the set
time (parametersPPB 30 K/ PPB 30 RC dura-
tion of button function/duration of ventilation
level) and then switch off automatically. For
manual operation → Manual exhaust air mode
[}53] and Manual exhaust air mode and intens-
ive ventilation [}53].
7.7 Manual exhaust air mode
For PPB 30 O
Both fans of the PPB30 unit run at full load = air
extraction at a total of 45m³/h without heat recov-
ery.
The following applies to RLS45O +
PPB30O: Exhaust air mode is only released
when using one individual PPB30O in com-
bination with an RLS45O controller (unit type
setting = PPB30 and number of units = 1). In
this case, there is no volumetric flow compens-
ation. Air extraction in compliance with the
relevant standards can thereby be ensured in a
bathroom, for example.
This mode is switched on manually by pressing
the “Ventilation level” key on the RLS45O for
more than 2seconds. Exhaust air mode usually
lasts 10minutes.
7.8 Manual exhaust air mode and in-
tensive ventilation
For PPB 30 K / PPB 30 RC
This mode is switched on manually using an op-
tional button or switch. We would recommend us-
ing a switch for the start delay. Parameters for the
function duration and start delay can be set by the
specialist installer using the commissioning soft-
ware.
Volumetric flow compensation for a PPB 30 K /
PPB 30 RC exhaust air mode is undertaken using
the PP 45 and/or PPB 30 O units connected to
the fan interface (Fan1 / Fan2). These run in sup-
ply air mode when exhaust air mode is active.
The volumetric flow compensation of the PPB
30 K/PPB 30 RCunits in exhaust air mode is
carried out by PP 45 unitsPP 45/PPB 30
volumetric flows [}105].
