What to do if Makita DUP362Z shear blade does not move?
- JJustin Lowery MDAug 7, 2025
If the shear blade of your Makita Power Tool doesn't move, even when you pull the switch trigger, there are several potential causes. First, the battery might be low, so try charging it. Ensure the I/O switch is in the "I" position. If the shears are locked, unlock them by following the steps described in "Switch action". Also, check the connection cord to ensure it is not loose. If the I/O switch was in the “on” position when you inserted the battery, turn it off and on again. If none of these steps work, the switch trigger may be defective, and you should stop using the tool and seek repair at an authorized service center.
