CONNECTION

DECK
Connect
the
IN
(recording
input)
jacks
of
the
tape
deck
to
the
TAPE
OUT
jacks
of
this
unit,
and
connect
the
OUT
(playback
output)
jacks
of
the
tape
deck
to
the
TAPE
IN
jacks
of
this
unit.
CONNECTION
OF
SPEAKER
SYSTEMS
This
unit
is
equipped
with
two
sets
of
SPEAKER
SYSTEM
terminals
--
SYSTEM
1
terminals
and
SYSTEM
2
termi-
nals.
Usually
connect
your
speaker
system
to
the
SYS-
TEM
1
terminals.

The
speakers
in
the
speaker
system
should
have
an
impedance
between
4
and
16
ohms.
If
speakers
with
an
impedance
of
less
than
4
ohms
are
connected,
the
protection
circuitry
may
be
activated
during
play.

Connect
the
Right
channel
speaker
to
the
R
terminals,
and
the
Left
channel
speaker
to
the
L
terminals.

The
output
terminals
have
positive
(+:
Red)
and
nega-
tive
(—:
Black)
polarity,
and
each
speaker
also
has
the
same
polarity
(+
and
—).
When
connecting
the
speak-
ers,
be
sure
to
connect
the
terminals
with
the
same
polarity
(+
with
+,
—
with
—).
NOTE:
lf
two
speaker
systems
are
to
be
connected
to
the
unit,
each
of
the
speakers
should
have
an
impedance
of
8
ohms
or
more.
If
speakers
with
an
impedance
of
less
than
8
ohms
are
connected,
the
protection
circuitry
may
be
activated
during
play,
making
normal
stereo
playback
impossible.

analog
audio
processor,
such
as
a
graphic
equalizer,
to
these
jacks.

These
are
auxiliary

jacks
which
can
be
used
to
connect
the
audio
outputs
of
AV
components
such
as
TV
multiplex/stereo
audio
tuners,
VCRs,
and
laserdisc
play-
ers.

Connect
the
output
jacks
of
the
tuner
to
these
jacks.

the

a
Compact
Disc
player
to

a
turntable

the
turntable

tape
decks
can
be
connected.

to
these
terminals.

OUTLETS
(UNSWITCHED)
The
power
plugs
of
system
components
which
do
not
have
to
be
switched
ON/OFF
according
to
the
the
POWER
switch
setting
of
this
unit
can
be
plugged
into
these
outlets.
Up
to
two
components
can
be
connected
provided
that
the
total
power
consumption
does
not
exceed
200
W;
be
sure
to
check
that
the
components
do
not
consume
a
larger
amount
of
power.
AC
OUTLETS
(SWITCHED)
By
connecting
this
outlet
to
the
power
plug
of
a
VCR,
tuner,
or
TV
set
(the
audio
output
of
which
is
connected
to
this
unit)
and
by
leaving
its
power
switch
set
to
ON,
the
component's
power
will
be
switched
ON/OFF
in
conjunc-
tion
with
the
POWER
switch
of
this
unit.
The
power
consumption
of
the
connected
component
should
not
exceed
100
W.

POWER
CORD
Connect
to
a
household
power
outlet.

POWER
SWITCH
Pressing
once
switches
the
power
ON,
and
pressing
again
switches
it
OFF.
The
power
to
the
component
connected
to
the
switched
AC
outlet
on
the
rear
panel
is
also
switched
ON/OFF
by
the
operation
of
this
switch.
The
POWER
indicator
lights
when
the
POWER
switch
is
ON,
and
go
out
when
the
POWER
switch
is
OFF.

CLASS
A
INDICATOR
This
indicator
lights
when
the
unit
is
in
the
class
A
operation
mode.
