MONITOR
SWITCHES
Press
one
of
the
switches
to
monitor
or
play
one
of
the
tape
decks
connected
to
this
unit.
The
indicator
above
the
pressed
switch
lights
up.
When
the
tape
decks
are
not
to
be
monitored
or
played,
press
the
SOURCE
switch.

SOURCE
DIRECT
SWITCH
When
this
switch
is
pressed,
the
indicator
above
it
lights,
and
the
audio
signal
bypasses
the
tone
circuitry
(BASS,
TREBLE)
and
balance
control
circuitry
so
that
it
can
be
reproduced
with
a
higher
quality.
To
cancel
the
Source
Direct
operation,
press
the
switch
again.
INPUT
SELECTOR
Selects
the
program
source
to
be
recorded
or
played
from
the
PHONO,
CD,
TUNER,
AUX
1,
and
AUX
2.
G2)
VOLUME
CONTROL
Adjusts
the
volume
level.
Turn
the
knob
clockwise
to
increase
the
volume.
MUTING
SWITCH
When
this
switch
is
pressed,
the
audio
signal
is
muted
to
—oo
dB.
Use
this
switch
when
it
is
required
to
eliminate
the
sound
temporarily.
The
indicator
lights
when
the
switch
is
pressed.
NOTE:
Be
sure
to
check
the
VOLUME
control
setting
before
pressing
this
switch
to
cancel
muting.
If
the
muting
is
canceled
while
the
volume
setting
is
high,
the
speakers
could
be
damaged.
BALANCE
CONTROL
Turn
the
knob
to
correct
an
unbalanced
program
source
such
as
stereo
broadcast
or
to
vary
the
output
level
of
the
left
or
right
channel.
Note
that,
if
the
BALANCE
control
is
turned
fully
in
one
direction,
the
sound
will
not
be
heard
from
the
speaker
on
the
other
side.
REC
SELECTOR
SWITCH
Selects
the
tape
dubbing
mode
between
tape
decks
or
the
signal
output
at
the
REC
OUT
jacks.

MM/MC
SELECTOR
SWITCH
When
the
INPUT
SELECTOR
is
set
to
PHONO,
the
type
of
cartridge
used
on
the
turntable
can
be
selected
between
MM
(Moving
Magnet)
and
MC
(Moving
Coil)
using
this
switch.
Set
this
switch
according
to
the
cartridge
used
on
the
turntable.
MC
is
selected
when
the
switch
is
set
to
the
low
position.

MONO
SWITCH
When
this
switch
is
pressed
to
the
low
position,
the
left
and
right
channel
sounds
are
mixed
and
the
same
sound
is
produced
from
both
speakers.
Usually,
set
this
switch
to
the
high
position.

PROCESSOR
SWITCH
Press
this
switch
to
the
low
position
when
an
analog
audio
processor
connected
to
this
unit,
such
as
a
graphic
equalizer,
is
to
be
used.
NOTE:
If
this
switch
is
pressed
while
an
analog
processor
or
like
is
not
connected
to
this
unit,
the
sound
will
not
be
heard
because
the
signal
paths
are
switched.
Therefore,
be
sure
to
set
this
switch
to
the
off
(not
pressed)
position
in
normal
use.
BASS
AND
TREBLE
TONE
CONTROLS
Adjusts
the
tone
by
controlling
the
levels
of
two
frequency
bands.
Turn
each
control
toward
(+)
to
enhance
the
corresponding
frequency
band,
or
toward
(—)
to
attenuate
it.
TREBLE:
Adjusts
the
high
frequency
level.
BASS:
Adjusts
the
low
frequency
level.

CLASS
A
SWITCH
Switches
the
amplifier
operation
mode
between
Class
A
(25
W,
8-ohm)
and
Class
AB
(100
W,
8-ohm).
The
CLASS
A
indicator
lights
when
the
Class
A
operation
is
set.
This
switch
must
be
pressed
while
the
power
is
OFF.
The
initial
setting
of
this
switch
is
for
Class
AB
operation.
NOTE:
The
temperature
of
the
top
cover
of
the
unit
may
rise
during
Class
A
operation,
but
this
is
not
a
malfunction.
Do
not
place
any
object
on
the
unit
for
this
may
block
the
ventilation
and
cause
damage
or
malfunction.
SPEAKERS
1/2
SWITCHES
These
switches
are
used
to
select
the
speaker
system(s)
connected
to
the
SPEAKER
SYSTEM
1/2
terminals
on
the
rear
panel.
If
both
the
1
and
2
switches
are
pressed
to
the
low
positions,
two
speaker
systems
can
be
used
at
the
same
time.
When
headphones
are
used
for
listening,
set
both
switches
1
and
2
to
OFF
(high
positions).

PHONES
JACK
Insert
the
standard
phone
plug
of
the
headphones
into
this
jack.
